Benchmark Six is producing a series of benchmarks (periodic reports) that assess the performance of assay laboratories using external samples delivered to the laboratories under routine conditions.
Our aim is to assist quality management with simple and clear reports that are rigorous in the underlying technical and theoretical analysis.
By using a consistent set of yardsticks for all labs, our benchmarks make it easy to compare labs to each other and track how lab performance changes with time. In addition to tracking accuracy and precision, the cornerstones of statistical quality assurance and quality control, our benchmarks also track other key measures of performance. For example: sample preparation and analytical cost, success rate in meeting sample preparation specifications, and frequency of sample mix-ups.
